Sharnie | Integrative Health Professional

Sharnie McCooke is the Director of Akesó and a leading integrative health professional, known for her interdisciplinary approach and advocacy for patient-centred care.

She graduated with a double degree and Master of Osteopathy in Melbourne (2008), working across practices in regional NSW, Victoria, and the ACT before founding her own interdisciplinary Brisbane clinic in 2012, there she collaborated with specialists across fertility, obstetrics, gynaecology, dentistry, physiotherapy and more.

Sharnie completed postgraduate paediatric training (2012), became an internationally qualified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC, 2013), and later achieved IBCLC certification. She lectured in paediatrics at Southern Cross University, delivering curriculum and mentoring postgraduate students.

Her influence within the profession includes serving as the inaugural National Chair of the Paediatric Clinical Practice Group for Osteopathy Australia (2012), where she directed national research and education, and co-founding the Women’s Health Clinical Practice Group (2016).

Sharnie now brings her clinical expertise and passion for accessible, holistic healthcare to Alpine and Indigo Shires in North East Victoria, supporting regional communities alongside her husband, Troy, and their two sons, River and Wildé.
